ILS AND MALSR RELOCATION TO RUNWAY 9 AT THE LAKELAND LINDER REGIONAL AIRPORT

The City of Lakeland desires to solicit bids from firms to construct the ILS and MALSR Relocation to Runway 9-27 at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport. Sealed bid forms will be received by the Purchasing Manager, City of Lakeland 1140 East Parker Street, Lakeland, Florida 33801 until 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012. Mailed bids must be received in the office of the Purchasing Manager not later than the time set forth for bid opening. The City of Lakeland will not be responsible for any lost or late arriving bids sent via the U.S. Postal Service or other delivery services. The project will be awarded to the bidder with the lowest responsive, responsible submitted bid.
The ILS and MALSR Relocation to Runway 9-27 project at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport will consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to install the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Medium-intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway alignment indicator lights (MALSR) for Runway 9-27. The project will include installation of a localizer antenna array, localizer control shelter, glide slope control shelter, MALSR control Shelter, and MALSR light stations. Miscellaneous associated site improvements including clearing and grubbing, gravel access drives, minor site grading, and sodding will also be included. Removal of existing Runway 5-23 ILS equipment and associated demolition is part of the project as well.

Boy Scout Blvd., Suite 700, Tampa, Florida, 33607, (813)-282-7275, [email protected], between the dates of June 18, 2012 and July 10, 2012. Bid documents will be available for pick-up or delivery. A non-refundable check payable to Atkins in the amount of $150.00 will be required for each set of bid documents to cover reproduction. All requests for documents shall indicate if they are for a Prime Contractor, Subcontractor or Supplier. Electronic copies of the project manual will not be available.

Only qualified contractors who have obtained a project manual prior to the stated date shall be eligible to submit a bid. All bidders should have a valid City of Lakeland bidder number. Any bidder that does not have a valid City of Lakeland bidder number should visit the City of Lakeland website to complete a bidder's application prior to submitting bids.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in conference room A at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, 3900 Don Emerson Drive, Suite 210, Lakeland, Florida 33811, for the purpose of explaining project requirements and answering questions. A visit to the project site will be held immediately afterwards. Attendance at this meeting is not required but is strongly encouraged.
