The FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) located at the Atlantic City International Airport, NJ; in accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Section 3.2.1.2.1, is conducting a market survey to determine the competition level among Small Economically Disadvantaged Businesses (SEDB) (8(a)), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).The purpose of this market survey is to solicit statements of interest and capabilities to design and produce a form-fit function replacement for the Airport Surveillance Radar-9 (ASR-9) transmitter backplane. The replacement backplane will be a multi-layer Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) with press-fit connectors. The legacy ASR-9 Transmitter Backplane Assembly, is a wire wrapped interface board that functions as a single point of distribution for all transmitter control, monitoring, and direct current (DC) power supply signals. It consists of a wired backplane attached to control card rack that houses four circuit boards.
The proposed work for this project includes the following:
â¢æ¢ Re -design a multi-layer Transmitter backplane CCA and adapters using Altium Designer EDA software.
â¢æ¢ Produce first article from the approved above designs.
â¢æ¢ Provide non-exclusive data rights and engineering package to the FAA as deliverable for each CCA
â¢æ¢ Provide production assemblies to FAA Logistics Center (FAALC ).
