FCS has several technical themes supporting the definition of a future
globally interoperable communication systems to support Air Traffic
Management (ATM) operations in the time frame of 2020 and beyond
(NEXTGEN/SESAR)
FCS was carried out in three phases from 2004 to 2007.
Phase 1 (~2004.12) : Technology Pre-screening
Phase 2 (~2005.05) : Technology Screening and In-depth study
Phase 3 (~2007.10) : Additional In-depth Study and Technology Evaluation
