The 14th meeting of the CNS/MET SG (CNS/MET SG/14) of APANPIRG was briefed on the developments of a pilot project on Aviation-weather Disaster Risk Reduction (ADRR), under the lead of Hong Kong, China in its capacity as a regional World Meteorological Organization (WMO) pilot project, for aviation users in the Asia and South-West Pacific Regions (IP/20 of CNSMET SG/14). The project serves to demonstrate to aviation stakeholders the benefits of such information in the planning of airport operations and collaborative decision making (CDM) with common situational awareness, thereby enhancing aviation safety.
