UAE Signs Air Services Agreement with Uruguay
GCAA has signed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) with the Government of Uruguay in Dubai on 05 July 2012.
The United Arab Emirates represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has signed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) with the Government of Uruguay in Dubai on 05 July 2012.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi - Director General of the UAE GCAA and H.E Mr. Alfredo Cazes, Cónsul General of Oriental Republic of Uruguay in Dubai.
The signed ASA allows full flexibility on the routes, capacity, number of frequencies and types of aircraft, in any type of service (passenger or cargo) including the exercise of fifth freedom traffic rights.
H.E. Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of open sky agreements like the one signed with Uruguay, which will contribute to boost the trade, tourism and investment between UAE and Uruguay, taking into account that now the Designated Carriers of the UAE and Uruguay can operate direct services between the two countries.
UAE now has air services agreements with over 150 countries, of which 114 are open skies or fully liberal arrangements.
