Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority Entrusts IDS-Ubitech to Establish AMHS Communications with the FAA
IDS Ubitech Technologies Inc., has been contracted by another Caribbean state to put them into full AMHS operations.
IDS Ubitech Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingegneria Dei Sistemi S.p.A., has been contracted by yet another Caribbean state to put them into full AMHS operations. This AMHS implementation project with Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) means a collaboration between the parties that will now see JCAA adopt AMHS as the modern means of aeronautical messaging.
JCAA initiated the AMHS project in response to Amendment 1 to ICAO Doc 4444 which mandates the transition to the NEW Flight Plan format by November 15, 2012. JCAA identified that a new ATS Messaging system was required to transition all of their users to the NEW format while maintaining the compatibility of legacy systems which do not support the PRESENT format. In order to meet the ICAO deadline, IDS/Ubitech will implement its Ubimex AMHS system in under three months which is possible because of the robustness and maturity of the Ubimex. It is already fully compliant with the NEW flight plan format while including a FPL conversion service which provides bi-directional FPL conversion to/from NEW and PRESENT formats.
JCAA¡¯s AMHS project is IDS/Ubitech¡¯s 4th AMHS contract in the Caribbean with previous successes in Dominican Republic, Curacao, & St. Maarten.
