IHS Jane¡¯s ATC Awards 2013 Hit an All-Time High
Nominations closed on 30 November for the prestigious IHS Jane¡¯s ATC Awards 2013, after more than 65 entries from air navigation service providers, regulatory bodies and private-sector companies. The entries will be shortlisted by a high-ranking panel of judges comprising representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eurocontrol, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), the International Air Transport, Association (IATA), the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Association (IFATCA), and IHS Jane¡¯s. Award winners will be announced on 11 February 2013 during the CANSO ATM Dinner, held at the Melia Castilla hotel in Madrid before the inaugural World ATM Congress, operated by CANSO in association with ATCA. The IHS Jane's ATC Awards have evolved since 2001 to become the industry's most authoritative and independent platform for recognising and rewarding excellence. ¡°The ceremony on 11 February will mark the 13th consecutive year that IHS Jane¡¯s has recognised high achievement in air traffic control and air traffic management,¡± said Ben Vogel, editor of IHS Jane¡¯s Airport Review. ¡°In that time, awareness of the awards and enthusiasm to participate has grown so much that next year¡¯s winners will be picked from a record pool of entrants.¡± Jeff Poole, director general of CANSO, said: ¡°As the global voice of ATM, CANSO is delighted to host the 2013 IHS Jane¡¯s ATC Awards. The record number of entries reflects an increased focus amongst air navigation service providers and others in the industry on improved performance and delivery. CANSO members look forward to applauding the best and brightest in the industry.¡± The entries, listed below in alphabetical order, reflect the importance of collaboration and innovation in air traffic control and airspace management, as efforts continue to improve efficiency, profitability and sustainability: - AAI - Green ATM initiatives
