Dubai World Central Airport also known as Al Maktoum International Airport in the UAE is set to commence passenger operations on 27 October 2013.
Construction on the airport's passenger terminal building was completed in 2012 and it features a runway capable of serving A380 aircraft, 64 remote aircraft stands and a design capacity of up to 7 million passengers per year.
Prior to commencement of operations, the passenger terminal will undergo a full testing and trial programme over the following months to guarantee a seamless opening.
Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths said: "The introduction of passenger services from Dubai World Central is the first step in the long-term development of the airport and will provide an attractive alternative to travellers."

The airport will initially launch passenger services through carriers including nasair and Wizz Air.
The airport construction is part a $33bn project that comprises six clustered zones, including Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai Logistics City, DWC Commercial City, DWC Residential City, DWC Aviation City and DWC Golf City.
Initially opened for cargo operations in June 2010, Dubai World Central handled 219,092t of air freight and 16,317 aircraft movements during 2012.
The airport began general aviation services on 28 April 2011 after receiving regulatory approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority to operate flights carrying up to 50 passengers and crew in February 2011.
Upon the scheduled completion in 2020, Dubai World Central is aiming to become the world's largest airport with five runways.
The airport will be able to handle 80 million passengers by 2027.
